The Forestry Research Division was established in 1969. It deals with problem oriented research in major disciplines (branches) of forestry namely, Silviculure, Forest Mensuration, Watershed Management and Farm Forestry Research. The research officers of the division also deliver lectures to the forestry students in the field of their specialization. They also hold seminars and short courses for field foresters and nominees of other interested agencies. The division is headed by a Director. His main job is planning, management and supervision of research programmes of all the branches of the Division.
